Our Story

Clover Toys is truly a community toy shop. Established in 2004 on historic Ballard Avenue in Seattle, it has been a place of enchantment from the beginning. When the original owners decided to retire in 2017, Brittney Geleynse and her family and friends jumped in to keep the doors open. As a mom to a young child, Brittney understands the importance of play and is constantly inspired by the wonder with which children see the world. She imagined a toy store with all of the whimsy of the original but with an increased focus on sustainability, creativity, and learning. This vision is shared by the small but dedicated team that has helped to make Clover Toys what it is today.

After nearly two decades on Ballard Avenue, Clover Toys moved to its current location in the Ballard Blocks to provide more space for community events and, of course, toys! Today, the store offers a beautiful selection of toys, games, puzzles, arts & crafts, books, and clothes for babies and children. We also host events each month, including story, craft, and game times, to provide fun, free, and educational events to families in our community.

At Clover Toys, we believe that open-ended play should be at the heart of childhood and that the toys we give our children should promote a healthier, happier, and more sustainable future. That’s why we continue to refine our product offerings to make playtime as inclusive and Earth-friendly as possible. We also believe in giving back to our community. That’s why we partner with local non-profits to provide monetary and in-kind donations and help raise awareness through cause campaigns and toy drives.
